Goldie Ala, 90, Topeka died Thursday July 5, 1990 at a Topeka retirement home. The funeral will be at 1 p m Saturday at Parker-Price Mortuary, Topeka followed by Eastern Star services conducted by the Helena Chapter No. 210. The graveside service follows at 3:30 p m at Easton Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 pm today at the funeral home. Mrs Ala was born June 14, 1900 in Potter the daughter of Charles and Isabelle Housh Connelly. After her father died in 1902 the family moved to Winchester, where she attended schools. The family later moved to Easton. She worked 20 years at the Easton State Bank, retiring in 1972. She was a longtime member of the Easton Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was a 50 year member of the Helena Chapter O.E.S., the Past Matrons of the Helena Chapter and the Past Matrons and Patrons of Distrist 14, O E S. She married Herman Ala April 30, 1919 in Leavenworth. They lived in Colorado until 1931 when they return to Easton. He preceded her in death January 21, 1971. She is survived by a daughter, Fern Goff, Topeka, a son-in-law, James W. Goff, Topeka, a sister Grace Kettler, Holden, Missouri and nine nieces and nephews.
