Utah Highway Patrolman, Joseph Samuel Brumett III, struck by a vehicle at the site of a traffic accident on I-15, died Dec. 11, 1992, shortly after being life-flighted to LDS Hospital.

A resident of Lehi, Utah, he had been a member of the Patrol since March 1992.

Joey was born November 2, 1968 in Danville, Illinois to Edythe Barnett Brumett and

Joseph Samuel Brumett, Jr. Graduated from Bismarck-Henning High School, 1987. Served an LDS mission to the California-Sacramento Mission. Married childhood sweetheart Jennifer Taylor September 27, 1991, Salt Lake LDS Temple for time and eternity.

He is survived by his wife of Lehi; sister, Mrs. Leon (Buffi) Harrington, Craig, Colo.; brother,

Michael B. Brumett, Ogden; stepbrother, Jason Brumett, Alvin, Ill.; father and stepmother, Joseph S. and Sue Brumett, Alvin, Ill.; mother, Edye Brumett, Salt Lake City; grandmother, Mrs. Agnes Moss, Bismarck, Ill; and grandmother, Mrs. Virginia Barnett, Danville, Ill.

Joey will always be remembered by all who knew him for his smiling face, and his optimistic love for life and all people.

Funeral services Monday, December 14, at 12 noon, Lehi Stake Center, 200 North Center Street, Lehi, Utah. Friends may call in Salt Lake City at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Sunday evening 6-8 p.m., and at the Stake Center Monday, 10:45-11:45 a.m.

Burial will be in Rossville, Illinois.
