Body of Lewis Mohler Will Be Buried Here Tuesday Afternoon

Funeral Services for the late Lewis Mohler, 85, who passed away Saturday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Carrie Fox, in Seymour, Ind., will be held in the First M.E. church here at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Rev. A.F. Hogan, the pastor will be in charge and burial will be in Starr Cemetery two miles north of the city. His death was the result of a complication of ailments which followed a stroke of apoplexy which he sustained last December.
Mr. Mohler was the son of the late John and Mary Mohler and was born three and a half miles east of Alexandria on March 7, 1845. He had spent most of his life in Madison County, and for many years was a resident of Alexandria, having a wide circle of friends here. He was a veteran of the civil war, having served three years with the 75th Indiana Infantry, and taking part in a number of important battles.
His wife preceded him to the grave several years ago, and since that time he had made his home with his children. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Carrie Fox, of Seymour; and Mrs. Jane Randall, of Lafayette. There are four surviving sons, Charles Mohler, southeast of Alexandria; Frank S. Mohler of Lebanon; John C. Mohler, of Danville, and William H. Mohler, of Kokomo. There are also twenty surviving grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. Mr. Mohler had been at the Fox home at Seymour for the past three years.
