BRICHAM CITY - David Mark Allen left us to be with his heavenly father on March 6, 2001, due to a tragic auto accident outside of Phoenix, Arizona.

He was 61 years of age. David was born on December 18, 1939, to David Ethan and Nora Athalie Allen. He spent his early years in American Fork, Utah, where he participated in the Boy Scouts and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. His involvement with the Boy Scouts continued for much of his life. As a result of his academic achievements, he received a scholarship to attend the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. After a year there, he returned to Utah and graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. David was married to Ione Harper on June 30, 1961, in the Logan Temple.

He was a member of the Twentieth Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brigham City. He was a high priest and enjoyed being involved with the church. He was in the symphonic choir for many years and enjoyed serving as a home teacher.

David enjoyed much success throughout his life. He began his career at Thiokol. He then worked at US Steel which then allowed him the opportunity to work and live for two years in Ahwaz, Iran. After returning to the United States he began his own business in Denver, Colorado, which is still in operation 30 years later. In order to be near his family he relocated to Brigham City where he was a realtor before beginning work at Western Zirconium. He enjoyed his work as a senior non-destructive test engineer there and retired last year after l9 years.

His family was very important to David and he enjoyed spending time with them. He loved planning the many trips to foreign lands he and his family took together. He also enjoyed reading, outdoor activities of all sorts and singing.

Funeral services for both David and Athalie were held Saturday, March 10 at the Twentieth Ward Chapel, Brigham City under the direction of Myers Mortuary, Brigham City.

His son, David Mark, and his father, David Ethan, preceded him in death. His mother, Nora Arhalie, walked the path with him. David is survived by his loving wife, Ione Allen, and their children: Rebecca of Littletown Colorado, and Ronald, his wife Tifany and his two granddaughters, Brooke and Cortney who live in Virginia. As a husband, father, brother and family patriarch, those of us who remain behind will sorely miss him.

Interment in the Brigham City Cemetery.
