Obit;"Jason Richard Collins Family and friends from all over the country will gather on March 24, 2006 from 9-11 A.M., at Mountain View Mortuary Chapel, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, Arizona for the visitation and Funeral services to follow at 11:00 A.M. to say goodbye to Jason Richard Collins, 28, of Mesa, Arizona. Jason passed away suddenly in an auto accident on March 17th while working in the Flagstaff area(along with his co-worker Matt Allred). He is survived by his parents Rick and Sue Collins of Mesa, his sister Krystal, his maternal grandfather John Bella, his paternal grandparents Della (Dee)and Ed Collins, his aunt Annie Bella and her son Chris Mandarino, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Jason was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Millie Bella. He is also survived by the love of his life, Tiffany Smith of Mesa, Arizona. Jason's passions included hunting and he will be sorely missed by his hunting buddies Tom Collins, Ron Kinser, Fred Kinser, Dean Brenden, Ron Lorman and Kurt Hovaldt. Jason was born in Mesa, Arizona on October 9, 1977. He played baseball for East Mesa Parks & Rec. for 12 years. He also played baseball at Freemont Junior High and football at Red Mountain High School, from which he graduated in 1996. Jason became a journeyman lineman for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 769, and his work quickly became his passion. He worked in many different states including Arizona, California, Texas, Maryland and Colorado. Part of his time as a journeyman was spent working to restore power to people who were victims of natural disasters including the San Diego wild fires, Fort Worth rain storms and Baltimore ice storms. He was a friend to many, many people and his door was always open to friends and family in need. He was taken from us too early but he touched so many people in so many ways. Although he is no longer here with us, he is forever in our hearts, and he will be forever missed. To continue Jason's legacy and his gift of giving, memorial fund has been set up to help his fellow journeyman in times of hardship and injury.
