Mrs. Gladys Allison
Mrs. Gladys L. Allison, 81, of Independence, Mo., formerly of Stanley, died Sunday in the home.
Mrs. Allison taught elementary school in Stanley before she was married on April 28, 1921, to Leon H. Allison, who died in 1982.
She also had worked for Allison's Grocery, Stanley, the Hodges Brothers Hardware and Lumberyard, and Howard Boehm's store in Stanley as well as the Stanley Post Office.
For a time she and her husband operated a dairy.
Mrs. Allison was a member of the Stanley Community Church and a life member of the Stanley Grange.
She was born Gladys Zimmerman near Stanley on April 18, 1902, and was a lifelong area resident.
She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Katherine L. Crowley, Independence; three grandchildren, and three great-grandsons.
Services were held yesterday at the Frye Chapel, Olathe; Burial in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association.
