He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include wife, Gail Couch Jessup, Auburn; step daughters, Amy and Billy Scott, Auburn; Sarah Couch and Hank Smith, Flowery Branch; step-son, Joey Allen, Lithonia, granddaughters Elizabeth Paige Scott, Sarah Mercedes Smith, brother, Douglas Jessup, Myrtle Beach SC; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Richard Charles Jessup will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday from the chapel of Tapp Funeral Home, Rev. Charles Grant officiating, interment, Dahlonega Memorial Park.
