Mary Josephine (Ryan) Kinney came to the U.S. from County Kilkenny, Ireland with her parents, James and Sarah (Loughry) Ryan and brother Joseph in May 1880. Her sister Sarah was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1884. She married Thomas Francis Kinney on January 29, 1901 and lived in Virginia, Illinois where her husband was a tenant farmer. Her beloved children are Mary Isabelle (born March 29, 1902) and Fletcher (born/died February 12, 1906) Kinney in Virginia, Cass County, Illinois. She had six wonderful grandchildren, Mary, Frank, John, Rose, James, and June Devine.

Mollie was in ill health and went to live with her sister Sarah Daly in Chicago where she passed away five months later. Mollie was predeceased by her parents, beloved daughter Mary in 1935, husband Thomas in 1941, brother Joe in 1943 and grandson Johnny in 1944. She is survived by her sister Sarah Daly of Chicago, five beloved grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three nieces and six nephews.

Mollie Kinney has no marker but is buried near this monument for her Mother, sister, and brother-in-law.
