Abrahams died Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born on July 23, 1920 in Corn, the son of Jacob J. and Susie (Boese) Abrahams.
Reared in Corn, he attended Corn Valley Elementary School and graduated from Corn High School in 1939.
He went on to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University for a short time.
Abrahams married Rosella Harms on March 15, 1942 in Clinton, and he entered the Army Air Corps the same year.
Upon his discharge, he returned to Clinton and started his farming career, raising wheat, cotton and cattle. He retired in 1992.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Burial will conclude at the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.
Survivors include his wife, Rosella, with whom he would have celebrated 64 years of marriage on March 15; four daughters, Peggy Mitchell and her husband, Wes, Kathleen Knightstep and her husband, John, Mary Jean Hunnicutt and her husband, Bob, Susan Gorton; a brother, Leonard Abrahams and his wife, Edna; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death, along with his parents, were a brother, Irvin Abrahams; and two great grandchildren.
The family suggests that memorial contributions in Abrahams' honor may be made to the Spina Bifida Association of Central Indiana (SBACI), P.O. Box 19814, Indianapolis, IN 462319-0814 or to the First United Methodist Church of Clinton.
