Mrs Martha Jane Adkins, sixty one years old of Sias, died at 3:30 Thursday afternoon, while on her way home from a grocery store near her home, from a heart attack. She was the wife of Wilbert Adkins, who is employed in Logan county. The body was removed from the Johnson-Koontz Funeral Home Friday afternoon.
Surviving besides the husband are six daughters, Mrs Roy Douglas of Yolyn, Wv, Mrs Lena Hanley of Logan, Wv., Mrs Manuel Sias of Sias, Wv., Misses Leva, Peachy and Pearl Adkins at home and three sons, Moggie Adkins of Yolyn, Okey of Mallory and Private First Class Robert Adkins in the Army. Funeral services were held up until Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock, pending the arrival of the son who is in service. The Rev. Ebb Cummings assisted by the Rev. Mrs Ethel Dowe officiating at the Collins Knob church.
