Company E, 19th Indiana Infantry .
This regiment was part of the famous "Iron Brigade" that took part in many of the battles in the east.

William Beegle joined the 19th Indiana in July 1861 soon after the war started. He served over a year until he got the measles. He mustered out in Oct. 1862 but was drafted back into the army in 1863. He served in the 149th Penn. Infantry until the end of the war in 1865. He was wounded at the Battle of the Wilderness in the spring of 1864.

William Alexander Beegle served his second enlistment for his brother, David, with Co. "H" 149th Pennsylvania Infantry.

CIVIL WAR VETERAN
DIES THURSDAY


W. A. Beagle,(sic) 90, Pioneer County
Man Succumbs At His Home
South Of Sayre

W. A, Beagle,(sic) 90, Civil war veteran died at his home four miles south of Sayre Thursday night of old age.

Funeral service for him will be held at he First Methodist church in this city Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be made in the Sayre-Doxey cemetery. Littrell and Moore funeral directors have the arrangements.

Mr. Beagle,(sic) a pioneer Beckham county resident had been ill for the past four years. He had been bed-ridden for more than a year. He was well known and a highly respected citizen.
