Maplewood-- Mrs. Bertha Erma Clayton, 76, R.R. 1, died Sunday at 2:25 p.m. at Wilson Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 28, 1898, in Lawrence County, Tenn., daughter of Jacob and Amanda (Leighman) Shively.
In 1912 she and Talmage Clayton were married. They moved to Shelby County in 1919 from Tennessee. He died in October.
Surivors include five sons, James T., Piqua, Donald C., Houston, Kenneth, R.R. 1, Quincy, Robert P., Sanford, Fla., and Rev. Larry Clayton, Cleveland, three daughters, Mrs. Georgia L. Young and Mrs. Betty Jane Willoughby, both of Sidney, Mrs. Alvin (Edna Ruth) May, R.R. 5, Sidney; 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Judson (Viola) Beers, R.R., Wapakoneta and Mrs. Harry (Ollie) Protsman, R.R., Sidney; A brother, Abraham Shively, R.R., Quincy.
A daughter and three brothers preceded her in death.
Mrs. Clayton was a member of the Grace Baptist Church, Sidney.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the church with the Rev. William Hovestreydt and the Rev. Larry Clayton officiating. Burial will be in Glen Cemetary, Port Jefferson.
Friends may call at the Souder-Dearth Funeral Home Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon.
