Elinor was born May 19, 1920 in Cele (The Richland Community) in Travis County. She was the daughter of Frank W. Schmidt and Hedwig Bretschneider Schmidt. She was baptized in the Lutheran Faith by Pastor Zucher and in 1935 was confirmed by Rev. J.J. Kasiske in St. John's Lutheran Church. In 1940, she married Herbert Brinkmeyer. They later joined St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Their marriage lasted 61 years. She loved sewing, baking, trying new recipes, gardening, and helping her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Gus, Donald, and Raymond Schmidt; and one sister, Lisette Taylor; her son, Franklin; a granddaughter, Marie; and her husband, Herbert.

She is survived by a son, Herbert, Jr.; four grandchildren, Samuel, Emily, Max, and Joseph; and four great-grandchildren, Sami, Andie, Grae, and EV.

Celebration of life services will be held 10 :00 A.M. Saturday, November 12, 2016, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with visitation one hour prior. Burial to follow at Taylor City Cemetery.
