Services for Joe Jefferson Barnard Sr, of Mineral Wells will be 2pm Sunday, June 6, at the Church of God in Mineral Wells, with burial in the Indian Creek Cemetery. Rev. Sam McGraner will officiate assisted by Rev. James Okley with Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Barnard died on June 4, 1993, at 8:05 pm Friday in a local hospital. He was born on Jan. 5, 1908 in Jack County the son of Elijah and Carrie Dow Barnard. He married Katherine Ethel Moore on Dec. 7, 1988 in Mineral Wells, he was a roustabout and roughneck for Sun Oil Company until his retirement in 1963. He lived in Mineral Wells since 1988. He was a member of the church of God in Mineral Wells.
Survivors include: his wife, Katherine Ethel Moore Barnard of Mineral: five sons, Joe "Skip" Barnard of Dayton, Bennie Hoffman of Dayton, Bill Hamilton and George Hamilton of Mineral Wells; six daughter, Eloise Benoit of Stonwells, Kay Lamon of Clovis, N.M., Joyce Hendrick of Cyptess, Doris "Dot" Holder, Ruth "Totsie" Hamilton and Rosa "Sissie" Gibson, all of Mineral Wells; a step-sister Alma Flowers of Anahuac; 41 grandchildren; 25 Great grandchildern; and numerous nices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter..
