Mary Ann Bodine Bridger Loggins Newton was born in San Augustine, TX to Oliver Hazard Perry Bodine, Sr. and Mary Ann Sanders Bodine. Married George Granbury Bridger 21 Jan 1876 in San Augustine. Had six children: R.L., John, George, James, Mary, and Susan. After the death of her husband in 1890, she remarried John Rufus Loggins 06 Jul 1893 in San Augustine Co. They had a son named Charles. She remarried John Leroy Newton 17 Aug 1898 in Harrison Co. They had a son named William. Mary Ann died in Marshall, Texas.

Mrs. Mary Ann Newton died at the home of her son, William Newton...Monday night after a long illness.
She is survived by six sons, Robert Bridger of Center; Albert Bridger of Longview; John and George Bridger of Marshall; Charles Loggins and William Newton of Marshall; two daughters, Mrs. H.L. Thompson of Marshall, and Mrs. Joe Adams of Darco, 43 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren also survive her.
