JOSEPHINE JEWEL CHISUM HABY


Josephine Jewel Chisum Haby, 91, of Graham and Leakey, died Feb. 14, 2006, at her residence in Graham.

She was born Aug. 9, 1914, in Real County to Jess Kendrick Chisum and Pearl Sharp Chisum.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claude C. Haby Sr.; four sisters, Nora Fisher, Bertie Chisum, Thelma Brice and Sadie Rogers; and one brother, Walker Chisum.

She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Kostovick and husband, John, of Graham; two sons, Claude Haby Jr. and wife, Linda, and George Haby and wife, Brenda, all of Leakey; one sister, Leola O'Rear of DeQueen, Ark.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grand-children; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. in Frio Baptist Church of Leakey with the Rev. Harvey Hulse and Dr. Jim O'Dell officiating.

Interment followed in Leakey Floral Cemetery.
