OBITUARY - RITES HELD FOR MRS. C. J. IRISH (1964)
Funeral services were held at 9 am yesterday in St. Leonards Catholic church, Laona, for Mrs. Chester J. Irish, 72, a Laona resident for 55 years. Mrs. Irish died at 5:30 pm Sunday at the Ovitz hospital, Laona. Pallbearers were Frank Aschenbrener, William Karl Jr., Herman Lang, William Karl Sr., Frank Bohman and Edward Sharnek. Burial was in the Laona cemetary. Halverson Funeral Home of Crandon was in charge of arrangements.
The deceased was born September 6, 1891, at Rosholt, Wisconsin, the daughter of Carl N. and Mary Betker. She came to Laona in 1909 and was married on October 30, 1911. Mrs. Irish was a member of the St. Leonard's congregation, Christian Mothers and Royal Neighbors of America.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Harold C. Irish of Shawano and John H. Irish of Laona; a sister, Polly, Rosholt, and five grandchildren. She was precededin death by her parents, three sisters and a brother.
