Lena Davenport-Abed, 87, a resident of Macomb Township for the past three years, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, in St. Joseph's Mercy of Macomb Hospital, Clinton Township. She was born Feb. 26, 1917, in Clarksville, Tenn.
Mrs. Davenport, formerly of Sterling Heights, was a homemaker. Relatives described her as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Warren Woods Church of the Nazarene in Warren.
She is survived by her children, Wayne (Joyce) Davenport, Betty Nichols, Faye (Clarence) Riddle and Linda (Sonny) Rae; stepchildren, James (Sharon) Abed, Sue Wassom, Bonnie Goetz, Larry Abed and David (Chris) Abed; sisters, Virginia Herron and Lorene Walls; 27 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Phineas Davenport in 1981, and Joseph Abed in 1995.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr (at Masonic), Warren, with the Revs. Robert Trimble and Tom Hoppe officiating. Burial will be in Christian Memorial Cultural Center, Rochester Hills.
