F. J. Boeckman was born at St. Elizabeth, Missouri and came to Oklahoma with his
parents when he was 11 years old. They settled in the Okeene community on a
farm four miles southwest of Okeene. Boeckman continued to farm until recent
years. He was born August 18, 1892 and died November 30, 1976 at the age of 84.
He was an active member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and in community
affairs. He married Ida Huhman September 12, 1916 at St. Elizabeth, MO. She
preceded him in death. Surviving children are Amelia Bingham of Geary; Louis,
Alber and Sylvester of Okeene, and Joe of Friona, Texas, also 35 grandchildren,
15 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Veronica Pope. of Tulsa.
In 1967 Fritz was honored for 30 years' service as an ASC County Committeeman.
He was first elected to the county committee in 1936 and had served
continuously. He had been chairman of the committee for 15 years.Boeckman also
was chairman of the Cimarron Valley Soil Conservation Board of Supervisors and
had been a member of the board since its organization in May, 1943. He resigned
his post in 1973.
He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Farmers Union Cooperative
in Okeene and was secretary of the board from 1920 through 1958.
Fred married Stella Markes Peters on 28th of Jan in 1936. They had one son John Frederick Boeckman who died in 1956.
