Mrs. Ada R. Curtiss Babcock, daughter of Maria and the late Samuel Curtiss, was born in Oswego, February 6th, 1854, and died at her home in New Haven March 12, 1912. When she was thirteen her father was drowned in Oswego Harbor leaving the mother with three children to care for and educate. One daughter Mrs. Julia Foster died a few years ago, and a son William lives in Seattle. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Oswego. She was married to Thomas Babcock. Her eyesight began to fail about sixteen years ago, leaving her nearly blind. She was always bright and cheery and loved her friends with great affection.
