Temecula, Calif. - Diane Wiedrich, 61, of Temecula, Calif., formerly of Roscoe, S.D., passed peacefully in her sleep at Rancho Springs Hospital, Murrieta, Calif., on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006, after a brief but valiant fight with cancer.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1115 24th Avenue NE, Aberdeen, with Bishop Robert J. Eldredge presiding. Burial will follow at 2 p.m., at Morningside Cemetery, Roscoe, S.D., under the direction of Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, 1111 South Main St., Aberdeen. Funeral home visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Friday, and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Services were held previously in Temecula.

Diane was born Jan. 7, 1945, to Ida Orth and Edwin Bauer of Roscoe, S.D.

She married her high-school sweetheart, Kenneth Wiedrich, also of Roscoe, on Sept. 5, 1965.

She was a devoted wife, perfect mother, adored grandmother, cherished sister, and dear friend.

Diane and Ken were living in Temecula, Calif., for the past year, but had lived the previous 15 years in Aiken, S.C.

Diane's life was one of service: service to her family and service through numerous church activities. She was and remains a woman of great faith and a pure example of charity, patience and humility. Those fortunate to have known Diane are better for the experience. We are grateful for our time with her, grateful for her quiet testimony of her Savior, and grateful for our knowledge that we are parted but for the briefest time.

Diane is survived by her husband of 40 years; her children, Michael (Susan) and Wade of Roscoe, S.D., Tracy Wilcox (Larry) of St. Mary's, Ga., Tamara Traveller (Shane) of Corona, Calif., and Nathan of Davenport, Iowa; her sisters, Lila Preszler of Florida and Francine Roth of Minnesota; and 14 grandchildren who love and miss her gentle way.

She is preceded in passing by her parents and one grandson, Tyler.

Casketbearers will be Henry Wiedrich, Joel Wiedrich, Jason Roth, Justin Roth, Joel Roth and Kurt Preszler. Honorary casketbearers will be Timothy Wilcox and Justin Wiedrich.
