John W. Elmer

Arlington, Va. - Services for John W "Jay" Elmer, 44 of Arlington, formerly of Dubuque, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Third Presbyterian Church in Dubuque. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday at Egelhof-Casper-Strueber Funeral Home, 1145 Locust St.

Mr. Elmer died Saturday at Washington, D.C. He was born in Dubuque and was a real estate specialist with the Federal Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C. He was a University of Dubuque graduate and was active in the college choir and the Adrian Singers. He was a member of UD Alumni Association and Mu Sigma Beta Fraternity, Delinquent Loan Officer of the Federal Credit Union, member of the board of Harrisburg (Pa.) Bowling Association and member of the National Bowling Association.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Steven (Susan) Smith of Ardnadam Argyll, Scotland, and Ellen Elmer of Gaithersburg, Md.; a son, John W. of Gaithersburg, and his parents, John C. and Pearl L. Elmer of Dubuque.
