Annabelle was the daughter of Harry C. Bennett and Eula M. Rhodes. Her younger brother was Gerald W. Bennett.

She was born in Salem, Oregon. In 1942 she married Laverne "Emmett" Porter, the son of Rachel and Laverne Porter. Annabelle and Emmett were onion farmers in the Labish Lake area near Brooks, Oregon. They were part of an onion raising coop called the Lucky 7. Annabelle was a bookkeeper for the Public Utility Commission, Labish Brokerage and others.

They had one child, Barbara Marie. She was born in 1945 and died at 7 months of age of septicemia while the family was on a visit with Emmett's family in Eastern Oregon.

Emmett had several strokes in the 1960s - 1990s. It impaired his movement and slurred his speech. Annabelle worked diligently with therapists to help Emmett regain as much of his skills as possible. They enjoyed gardening, camping and fishing.

Emmett died in 1998 and Annabelle died two years later.
