James "Jim" G. Berry, 51, of Owenton died Jan. 29, 2006, at his residence. He was the son of the late Chester A. Berry Jr. and Betty Norwood Berry. He was a quarter horse trainer and a member of NBHA and AQHA.
He is survived by his wife, Shawna Fitzgerald Berry; a daughter, Jessie Berry of Owenton; a son, Sonny Berry of Owenton; a brother, Phillip N. Berry of Henry County; and a sister, Patricia B. Lynch of Frankfort. He was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur W. "Bud" Berry.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 1 at McDonald & New Funeral Homes on Main Street with the Rev. Ken Collins officiating. Burial will be in Owenton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Duvall, Don "Stick" McCarty, John Perkins, Todd Holder, Todd Adair, John Reed Foster, Gene Ray Stivers and John Stanley.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass or Greenup Fork Baptist Church.
