Hyrom H. Argent, 77, of Jasper went to be with the Lord Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006, at the Baptist Medical Center-Princeton in Birmingham. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, in the Kilgore-Green Chapel with burial in the Walker Memory Gardens in Jasper. Bro. John Williams, Elder Charles Kitchens and Bro. Bobby Smith will officiate. Kilgore-Green Funeral Home will direct. Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today, Jan. 28, at the funeral home.Mr. Argent pastored the Radiant City Baptist Church in Nauvoo. He retired from Drummond Coal Company after 42 years in the mining industry.He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Margaret Argent; sister, Peggy Ann Argent; and son-in-law, Bill Deason.Mr. Argent is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gladys Argent of Jasper; four daughters, Margaret Williams and her husband Wilburn of Oakman, Sandra Deason of Jasper, Peggy Forrester and her husband Dave of Atlanta, Ga., and Sherry Mullen and her husband Ronald of Jasper; seven grandchildren, Misty Martin and her husband Scott, Wendy Kelly and her husband Dewayne, Junior Williams and his wife Kristy, Kristi Hagood and her husband Lanier, Christopher Deason, Stephanie Wimberly and her husband Josh, and Maitlyn Mullen; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Clay Argent and his wife Barbara and Tommy Argent.Pallbearers will be Mr. Argent's grandsons, Christopher Deason, Junior Williams, Scott Martin, Dewayne Kelly, Josh Wimberly and Lanier Hagood.
