Daughter, Jane P. HOSEY WRITE tells of Isaac and Harriet's move from Mississippi to the Creek Indian Territory in Oklahoma:

"I was born during a hurricane in Jasper County, Mississippi on September 13, 1876. My family left Mississippi on December 24, 1888. A four span of oxen pulled the wagon. The older children walked beside the wagon as we traveled. We arrived in McIntosh County, Oklahoma (Indian Territory) on February 10, 1889. My father ( Isaac William HOSEY) died suddenly after eating too much ice cream in a contest. He is buried in Paden, Oklahoma. (HOSEY Cemetery .. 9 miles north of Paden, OK)

Diary of Arthur Allen MOORE Jr. :

Monday, 15 April 1940 - Received call from Checotah that Grandma Hosey had died at 8:40 a.m. so mother (Anna Florence WRIGHT MOORE) got her work done and we went down on the 3:10 pm bus (from Muscogee). We got Hazel Osborn to take us out to grandma's (The farm that Jane P. HOSEY WRIGHT and Judge William WRIGHT lived...now owned by Jewel "Jack" and Betty HEFNER). We went over and got Uncle Jewel (HEFNER). Stayed up until nearly 11:30 p.m. Uncle (Judge William WRIGHT), Jessie (Jessie Lee WRIGHT??), and I slept on some cottonseed in the chicken house because there wasn't any room in the house.

Tuesday, 16 April 1940 - The funeral was at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Jennings officating. I went to the graveyard with one of the William's boys. She sure looked natural and there were quite a few people there too. The William's boys took us to Muskogee. Got to mom's place abut 5:00 p.m. (William's boys: grandsons of M. Melviny "Viney" DePRIEST and William Timothy WILLIAMS)
