Mrs. Elga E. Quattlebaum of Ashford passed away Friday morning at her residence under the care of hospice. She was 79.
Mrs. Quattlebaum was born on March 22, 1927 in Houston County. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Ashford. She loved spending time with her family and loved being a homemaker. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at Clayton Cemetery in Cottonwood. Officiating will be the Revs. John Hicks and Danny Bynum. The visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Ashford. The family will accept flowers.
Mrs. Quattlebaum was preceded in death by her husband Carvis Quattlebaum; parents Grady Guy and Nonnie Heath Guy and brother Coy Russell Guy.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Quattlebaum of Cowards, Sandra Quattlebaum of Dothan and Martha Jean Clarke and husband Jon of Lake Mary, Fla.; grandchildren Kristen, Tony, Shaun and Matthew Doling of Lake Mary and several cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
