"John Houk, a farmer living about four miles from this city, died Saturday afternoon at the advanced age of eighty. He was an early settler. The cause of death is supposed to apoplexy. He had sent his grand children to procure some warm water for him to shave with and while they were thus engaged he went up stairs. They heard something fall but paid no attention to it. A married daughter afterwards came in and carried his supper up to him and found him lying dead. The funeral will occur to-morrow afternoon."
