Cleta S. Stone Auman

Cleta S. (Stone) Auman, age 88 of rural Galena, KS, passed away at 6:23 AM on Saturday June 14, 2014 at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, MO.

Cleta was born on May 4, 1926 to the union of Fred Tandy and Carmen E. (Bowers) Stone. She was born in the same house that she lived in at the time of her passing, where she spent many years of her life.

On April 29, 1944 she was united in marriage with Loyal B. Auman. They lived many years together in Southeast Kansas until he passed away in 1999.

Cleta graduated from Riverton High School in the Class of 1944.

She spent her time as a homemaker, taking care of her three children. She enjoyed collecting, especially items associated with Santa Claus.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Loved ones left behind include two sons, Tandy Auman (wife, Debbie) of Rural Galena, and Charles Auman (wife, Pam) of Lenexa, KS; one daughter, Sue Ann Bryan (husband, Donald) of Riverton; one sister, Sue Bandy of Baxter Springs; six grandchildren, Lance Bryan (wife, Lois), Bryan Bryan, Emily Vasquez (husband, Adam), Katie Guin, Jeremy Auman (wife Kacy), and Jenifer Burton (husband, Greg); and five great-grandchildren, Lily Bryan, Logan Bryan, Isabella Vasquez, Madison Burton, and Alex Burton.

The body has been entrusted to Derfelts Baxter Chapel for cremation.

A visitation is planned for Thursday June 19, 2014 from 6-7:00 PM at Derfelts Baxter Chapel.

The family is planning a memorial service at First United Methodist Church of Baxter Springs on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Pastors Wayne Handel and Fred Craig (Cleta's Nephew) will officiate.

The family will bury the cremains privately at Quaker Valley Cemetery in Riverton beside her husband.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heifer Foundation in care of First United Methodist Church.
