US Congressman. He represented the 2nd Pennsylvania Congressional District, from 1817 to 1819. He attended the common schools and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. He practiced law in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties. He was a founder and a member of the first vestry of St. John Episcopal Church.
