She was born November 3, 1928 in Morill, NE. She was the youngest of 5 children born to Gates and Rose (Hotaling) Parker.
In 1954 she was united in marriage to Robert A. L. Johnson in Hot Springs, South Dakota. He preceded her in death in 2000. They moved to Alliance shortly after they were married. In 1960 they designed and built their home where she has resided since.
Elaine owned and operated Elaine's Art Gallery in Alliance for many years. She started her business on Flack Avenue before moving it to its Box Butte Avenue location which she operated until 2011. She loved children and especially enjoyed the children's art classes that she taught. Elaine was a member of the Box Butte Art Society, active at the Carnegie Arts Center and was involved with the Chamber of Commerce and Keep Alliance Beautiful.
She is survived by her sons, Lerick (Cheryl) Johnson and Michael L.O. Johnson of Alliance, her grandchildren, Derek (Megan) Johnson and Carley Johnson of Alliance, David Johnson of Fort Worth, TX and her great-grandchildren, Corbin and Kaelen Johnson of Alliance.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 21 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel with Reverend Russell Saito officiating. She will be buried with her beloved husband at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
