A daughter of the late Henry B. and Clara Priester Stillinger. She was active in community and civic affairs. She was an accomplished artist, enhancing many lives with her paintings. She was the designer of the Norway Town Flag. Her home has always been the gathering place for family and friends as her boundless energy, enthusiasm, and love made everyone feel welcome. She was predeceased by a son, Kenneth Berns “Ken” Bates, Jr.
