Ballard-Bierce

A wedding of considerable interest took place Thursday evening, when Miss Helen Ray Bierce, daughter of Ambrose Bierce, the well-known writer and satirist, was united in marriage to Samuel Judson Ballard.

The ceremony, which took place at the home of the bride's mother, 1032 South Flgueroa street, was performed by the Rev. J. J. Wilkins of St. Paul's Episcopal church. Only the immediate relatives were present.

The bride was attired in dainty white India mull, and carried a cluster of white carnations. Bright blossoms and dainty ferns in tasteful arrangement decorated the house. The young couple, upon their return from an extended wedding journey, will receive their many friends after September 1 at 1032 South Figueroa street.
