Obituary of Ada Bell Bivins
Ada Bell Peoples Bivins was born to the late John and Cornelia Peoples in Atmore, AL. She married Miller Ray Bivins in 1950 and five children were born to this union. She was formerly employed with Travel Lodge and retired from the Pascagoula School District. Sister Ada confessed to Christ at an early age. She was a member of Doris Street Church of God and served faithfully until her health failed. She was a kind, soft spoken loving wife and mother. She was loved and will be greatly missed by all of her family, friends, and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Remona Bivins Cooper; brothers, John, Sam, Eddie, W. H., and Cleo Peoples; and sisters, Evelyn Bristow and Connie Ridgeway. The Lord saw that it was time for her to take her rest and on May 19, 2014 he stretched out his hands and gently closed her weary eyes. She leaves to treasure her memories, a loving and devoted husband of sixty-four years, Miller Ray Bivins of Moss Point, MS; children, Barbara Covan, Clarence Bivins, Sr., and Myra Tillison, all of Pascagoula, MS, and Bernice Edwards of Moss Point, MS; adopted granddaughter, Wontu Bivins of Gulfport, MS; sisters, Susie Foster and Hattie Allen, both of St. Louis, MO, Minnie Peterson, and Genevia Armstrong, both of Atmore, AL; brother, Jessie Peoples of St. Louis, MO; twenty-one grandchildren (two devoted, Falena Bivins and Kantina Tillison), thirty-one great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and devoted friends.
