Mrs. Alice Gertrude Abendroth, 83, of 1205 Jefferson Stree, the mother of Brig. Gen. Harry W. Abendroth, died Tuesday noon in a Boise nursing home.

General Abendroth is chief of the Washington, D.C., military district and former Idaho adjutant general. He has been visiting Boise this week with his mother and other relatives.

She was born March 22, 1867, at Cincinnati, Ohio, and came to Idaho in 1906 as an Army wife. Sher resided first at the Boise barracks.

A charter member of the Boise VFW auxiliary, she was chaplain for post 63 for 25 years. She was a member of the Methodist church.

Surviving besides General Abendroth is another son, Wesley M. Abendroth, Boise, two daughters, Mrs. Gladys I. Barbour, Boise, and Mrs. Dorothy G. Crawford, Winnemucca, Nev.; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 4 p.m. today at the McBratney-Alden chapel with the Rev, Charles M. Donaldson and Post 63 VFW auxiliary officiating.

Pallbears will be Frank Lessing, Sgt. Andy Anderson, Chet Keltner, C.D. Vahl, Can A. Stroup and Thomas Bolen.

Interment will be at Morris Hill.
