CHARLES A. SUTTLES
CONNERSVILLE -- Charles A. Suttles, 82, died at 11:50 p.m. Sunday at his home on R.R. 3. He had suffered a stroke Saturday morning and a second one at 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
Born December 8, 1872 in Connersville (Indiana), a son of Isaac and Amie (or Annie, hard to read) Turner Suttles, he had lived in this community all his life, and had engaged in farming for many years. He was a 50 year member of the Odd Fellows lodge.
Survivors are his wife, who before their marriage October 26, 1898, was Pearl Selby; two children, Mrs. Lillian R. McDonough, R.R. 3; and Ray L. Suttles, Cambridge City (Indiana); three grandchildren; James A. McCullough, a student at Indiana State Teachers College, Terre Haute (Indiana); Ruth Ann McDonough, R.R. 3, and Mary Kathren Suttles of Cambridge City; three nephews, Russell Suttles of Harrison Township, Ralph Riggs of Florida and Amos Riggs of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Charles Chomel of Frankfort, Ind., a niece.
Rites were held Wednesday in Connersville. The Rev. A. Beale, pastor of the Methodist Church at Cambridge City, officated, and burial was in Dale Cemetery.
