Lydia Weldin was born in Delaware in 1800. She married Jacob Pierce in New Castle Co, DE in 1818. At some time, possibly by 1820 they moved to Kennett, PA area where they had nine children: William Gailey, John Weldin, Rebecca, Sarah Matilda, Lydia Ann, Jacob Weldin, Anna Maria, Mary Jones and Thomas Babb.

Lydia died in in 1863 about three months after her husband Jacob and their estates are both listed in the 1864 tax assessments list in Kennett Square. However they are both buried in the Wilmington and Brandywine Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.
