Mrs. Allen, who died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, at Decatur General Hospital, was born March 31, 1910, in Fyffe, Ala., to Leroy Jackson Lipscomb and Rebecca McPherson Lipscomb. She was a woman of courage and faith and will be greatly missed. Her husband, Carl H. Allen, preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Allen of Colorado Springs, Colo., Granville “Bud” Allen of Boaz and Charles Allen of Hamilton, Ohio; three daughters, Verla Mae McClung and Frances Brooks, both of Hartselle, and Patricia Weathers of Danville; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
