She was the daughter of the late Eugene Washington Baggerly and the late Mary Gray Baggerly and was married to the late Alvie Washington Smith who died in 2001.
Doris was retired from Glen Raven Mills, was a former "Pink Lady" volunteer with Alamance Regional Medical Center and was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church.
Whe is survived by her two children, Rhonnie Smith and his wife, Doris Smith of Lynchburg, VA and Rhonda Lane of Evans, GA, four grandchildren Darice Jamison and her husband, Scott Jamison, Tom Smith, Richardson Lane and Ryan Lane and three great grandchildren, Zachary Jamison, Patrick Jamison and Liza Jamison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister, Margaret Murray and a brother Elisha Baggerly.
The funeral services were conducted at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Reverend Dave Gilbert.
Interment followed at Alamance Memorial Park.
