Luetta Johnson, 89, of Crescent City, passed away Tuesday (June 4, 2013) at the Gilman Healthcare Center.

Luetta was born June 16, 1923, in Woodworth, the daughter of Edward and Anna Brutlag Sorensen. Her husband, John G. Johnson, whom she married June 10, 1950, in Crescent City, preceded her in death Sept. 30, 1977.

She is survived by three daughters, Sandra (John) Hoy, of Onarga, Betty (Stephen) Hoffman, of Milford, and Jackie (Steve) Chandler, of Cissna Park; one son, Kent Johnson, of Crescent City; eight grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Clarence Sorensen; two sisters, Leona Teske and Alvira Henrichs; an infant son, Michael Johnson; and one great-grandson.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Crescent City. She worked at Sennett's Market in Crescent City for 18 years, was a caregiver later in life and was a great baker.

Visitation will be from noon Saturday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Crescent City until the 2 p.m. funeral service. The Rev. Joel Brown will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church or to the donor's choice. Knapp Funeral Home, Watseka, is in charge of arrangements.
