Bernie, of Chimayo, was predeceased by her parents Romolo and Salome Baca; and brothers Delfin and infant Romolo Baca Jr.
Bernie was survived by her sisters: Fabiola, Della, Sally, and Lindy Baca of Chimayo; brother Leo Baca (Esther) of Chamita; sister-in-law Tomasita Baca; nephews: Ray Baca (Christy) and Marvin Baca; nieces: Darleen Vigil (Jake), Evelyn Padilla (Troy), Valerie Baca, Connie Overly(Edward), and Kathy Sanchez (Harold); and many other great nieces and nephews.
Bernie worked at Los Alamos for over 40 years, retiring from Johnson's Control. Bernie loved cooking, gardening and flowers. She was a generous and forgiving person and had much love for everyone who surrounded her life.
A public viewing and Rosary were on 20 April 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Funeral Mass was on 21 April 2014 also at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment followed in El Potrero Cemetery. Pallbearers: Ray Baca, Marvin Baca, Ryan Baca, Jake Vigil, Alvaro Vigil and Severo Vigil.
