Ms. Anna Long Marshall peacefully departed this life on Monday, May 23, 2005, at Beacon Place in Greensboro.A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday in the Brooke Chapel of Forbis and Dick Funeral Service, Stokesdale, with a graveside service following at Westminster Gardens in Greensboro. Officiating will be the Rev. Ed Armfield Jr., and the Rev. William D. Baker.

Ms. Marshall was born on June 29, 2005, in Guilford County to the late James Gurney Long and Ida Simpson Long. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey T. Marshall Sr., sister Elizabeth "Lib" Baldwin, brother George Edward Long and longtime companion, "CoCoa".

She is survived by three children, Harvey Marshall Jr. (Carla), of Greensboro, Wanda Pegg (Steve) of Greensboro and Mickey Marshall (Jan) of Oak Ridge; six grandchildren, Heather Marshall Coleman (Brad), Whitney Faith Pegg, Bryan "Bubba" Jacob Marshall, Joshua Russ Marshall, Christopher Cody Marshall and Anna Jordan Pegg; one great-grandchild, Skylar Lane Coleman; two step grandchildren, Sara and Tyler Glovier.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the love and care from all the staff on the oncology floor at Wesley Long Hospital. A special thank you to Randy Strodder for the tenderness he showed Mom on his home healthcare visits.

No words can express our gratitude to Dr. "G" Granfortuna for all the love, time and gift of music he shared with mom up to her last day. She loved you Dr. "G"!

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Brooke Chapel, Stokesdale. At all other times, the family and friends will gather at the home of Harvey and Carla Marshall, 3416 Edgefield Road, Greensboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Beacon Place, 2502 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405 or to The Regional Cancer Center, 501 North Elam Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27403, in her honor.
