William Gordon moved from Maryland, with his father, to Monongalia County, Virginia (now W.Va,) about 1789. It was in Monongalia County that he met and married Mary Carroll. About 1795 he moved, again with his father, to Greene County, PA. where Mary Carroll died in 1814. He then married Mary Cain about 1816. In 1833 he moved to Perry County, Ohio. All of his children, including spouses and grandchildren, with the exception of Nancy, who was married to David William Gordon moved from Maryland, with his father, to Monongalia County, Virginia (now W.Va,) about 1789. All of his children, including spouses and grandchildren, with the exception of Nancy, who was married to David Spragg, accompanied him to Ohio. There he was very respected with a reputation as a fair and honest man and became a judge. .
