Mrs. Betty Jean Grant Allmon, age 79, of Rome, passed away Sunday March 30, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Allmon was born July 7, 1934, in Floyd County, a daughter of the Virgil Grant, and Mary Lee Clark Grant. She was retired from Klopman Mills, and a member of Bethel Cross Roads Baptist Church. Mrs. Allmon was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Allmon, brother, Frank Grant, and a sister, Faye Tant, and Juanita Grant.

Survivors include her children, Glenda Wells, Kingston; Buddy Allmon, Kingston: David Allmon, Cedar Bluff, Al; Lee Allmon, Centre, Al; Earl Allmon, Rome; Mary Allmon, Rome, Andy Allmon, Jackson; sister, Mary Frances Hunter, Kingston; number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Wednesday April 2, 2014 at Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church, in Taylorsville, with Rev. Charles Garrett, officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday Aril 1, 2014 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.

Mrs. Allmon will lie instate at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
