Mr. Constantine worked for the Louisville & Nashville Railroad Company, as the station agent, at Sparta, Kentucky. He then became the proprietor of a hotel, in the same town. Jeremiah was a skilled telegrapher. In 1894, while working as Congressman Albert S. Berry's private secretary, he was appointed as the chief telegraph operator for the National House of Representatives. Mr. Constantine passed away from the effects of pneumonia, complicated by congestive heart failure.
