Dies in Hotel Room
Services For William Constantine,
Former Newport Resident, Are
To Be Held Tomorrow.
William Abbett Constantine, formerly of Newport, died yesterday in his hotel room at the Palace Hotel, Cincinnati, where he had made his home for several years. He was 53 years old.
Mr. Constantine was a telegraph operator, having been employed by Western Union Telegraph Company, the Cincinnati Post and the Racing Record. He was a son of Jerry J. Constantine, who was the official telegraph operator for the House of Representatives, Washington, for many years.
Besides his father, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Drake C. Naive, Versailles, Ky., wife of the former State Senator and present State Highway Commisioner from the Sixth District, who succeeded A.B. Chandler in the State Senate when the latter was elected Lieutenant Governor. Mr. Constantine was a member of the Order of Telegraph Operators and Newport Council, Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Constantine was formerly a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Newport, but for the last several years had been a member of St. Louis Church, Cincinnati.
The funeral will be conducted at 8:30 o'clock tomorrow morning at the Muehlenkamp, Costigan and Roll funeral home, Newport. Requiem high mass will be sung at 9 o'clock at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.
