Visitation was held at the Ball Club Community Center Friday, March 7, 2014 at 5 p.m.
Services wer held at the Ball Club Community Center Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 2 p.m.
Burial followed the service at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery.
Nancy is survived by her children Kevin Schaaf (Liz), Laurie Rogerson (Moe), Rick Skog, Celeste Olivarez, Carol Barany, Robert Johnson (Paula), Brett Johnson; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; brothers, sisters, and many other family members. She was also a special gramma to Andrea Mcclay of Red Lake and Cedric Bearheart of Mille Lacs, and so many others.
She was preceeded in death by her father Ambrose Schaaf; mother Susan Schaaf; brothers Al Schaaf and Ronnie Schaaf; sister Karen Applebee; and best friends Duriel Real and Ione.
Nancy was born Feb. 4, 1944, in Cass Lake.
She enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, cooking, bingo, coffee, thrift shopping and especially family gatherings.
She also loved spending time with her family, friends, and neighbors.
Nancy had a strong belief in the Catholic Church and in her traditional Native American Culture.
She is loved and will be missed by so many!!
