The following except is from John Connon's book, "Elora":
"John Hall and his wife, Sarah Wiggins, came to the Township of Wilmot about 1832. There the father died some ten years later, when his widow and the family soon afterward came to Pilkington. In this family were: Edmund Hall married Ann Ford; Thomas Hall married Ann Buckler; Mary Hall married William Betchen; Henry Hall married Elizabeth Howse; Joseph Hall married Maria Ford; Hannah Hall married George Morley; James Hall married Mary Elkerton. One thing remarkable about this family is that both husbands and wives came from Aynho.
One of this family, Thomas Hall, was born at Aynho in 1811, and came to Canada in 1827, at the age of sixteen. He stopped for some time in Quebec City and again in Belleville. There he accidently learned that his relatives had come to Canada and were living in the Township of Wilmot, so he made his way to them. He married in Wilmot Township and remained there until the year 1846, when he came to Pilkington. The children of Thomas Hall and Ann Buckler were: Henry, who with his wife, who was Sarah Bye, is living in Bethany; two sisters are Mrs. Thomas Luckitt, in Elora, and Mrs. Robert Mason, in Guelph Township." [John Connon, Elora, circa 1906]
