Florence Fairholm Winterset

Florence E. Fairholm, 83, of Winterset, died of a heart ailment May 12, 1995 at the Community Care of Winterset. Funeral services were May 15 at the First Christian Church in Winterset. The Rev. Bobby Dickerson officiated the services and burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born in Madison County on May 15, 1911 to Samuel G. and Alice (Barber) Brown. She married Edgar Verne Fairholm on Jan. 27, 1934 in Winterset. She was a retired teacher and a lifetime resident of Madison County. She was a member of the First Christian Church and a member of the Crown Rebekah Lodge; V.F.W. Auxiliary; Madison County Historical Society; Hillbilly Band, and the Farm Bureau.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five brothers and one sister.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Marvin E. Fairholm and wife Marilyn and Richard V. Fairholm and wife Luella, all of Winterset; one brother, Art Brown of Patterson; two sisters, Geneva Bertholf and Elma Fogler, both of Winterset; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
