Civil War Union Navy Sailor. He was a Union prisoner of war at the infamous Andersonville prison camp. He was part of a group, collectively known as "Mosby's Raiders" and led by William "Mosby" Collins, that beat, stole from, murdered and terrorized fellow Union prisoners before they revolted. In a trial conducted by the prisoners, and endorsed by Prison commander Captain Henry Wirtz, the six "Raiders" were found guilty, and hanged. Their remains were interred away from the rest of the Union soldiers who died at the prison.

Andrew Mulr, the name he gave at his trial, was identified as a US naval seaman because of the clothes he was wearing.
Later he was identified as Pvt. Alvin T Munn (27th Michigan) and his remains were was positively identified. The military records were supposedly amended, however the marker which says "A. Mulr" stayed the same.
Many years later, a replacement marker with "A. Munn" for Private Alvin T. Munn (27th Michigan) was placed, however with erroneous info that he was a Seaman in the US Navy.
There are no current plans to further correct the marker.
